Just build us a website, nothing fancy" contains not one quotable word. Paste what the client actually wrote — **unedited**, because the tidied version has already had the vagueness filled in by your own assumptions — and the code does two definite things. **One: it locates every vague quantifier.** "Et cetera", "simple", "just a first version", "polish it a bit", "should work on phones too", "revise until we're happy" — each flagged with what it becomes later. These aren't tone; they're **unpaid overtime**, and each can be converted right now into a number or a list. **Two: it checks coverage across eight dimensions** — purpose, deliverables, boundaries, dates, budget and payment, decision-maker and sign-off, assets and dependencies, revision rounds. Whatever the client never mentioned is listed with the questions to ask. Decision chain and asset dependencies are skipped most often and cause the most delay: when your contact isn't the decider you'll redo versions you never see reviewed, and when the client's assets arrive two weeks late the schedule is still your problem. Then the step almost everyone skips: **turn the answers into a confirmation message**. It puts what's excluded in writing (more protective than listing what's included), the act of confirming locks the scope, and it **filters out the clients who won't confirm a scope in writing — before you've quoted**. $2 unlocks the full questionnaire by project type, a sign-off-ready brief template, in/out scope lists and change-pricing clauses.
A full clarification questionnaire by project type, ready to send; a template that turns the answers into a brief the client can sign off; how to write the out-of-scope list so it actually holds; and change-pricing clauses with a workable definition of a revision round.
The risk score and coverage check are this tool's rough conventions (8 points per vague phrase, 10 per missing dimension). They do not measure real project risk or predict success — only the **information gap you currently have**. Vague-phrase detection is keyword-based and both misses and over-flags; an absence of these words does not mean the scope is clear. This is not legal advice: the effect of a brief, scope clause or pricing term depends on the contract you actually sign, and for significant amounts or IP ownership questions, have a lawyer review it.
